I was curious what a vegan hostel do differently compared to a non-vegan hostel. What is just as intriguing is the Happiness cafe on the bottom floor. Not your tradition cafe, however if you wanted the whole seating experience there were tables available outdoors. Indoors was an experience in itself especially on Sunday, if I remember right which was a communal brunch, twas quite the experience.
I had arrived early so my bed wasn't ready, I found a mattress to chill on in one of the shared spaces on the 2nd floor, one of the walls was a blackboard and has some pretty awesome art on it. There was a very chill vibe and it was quiet.
The front desk dude had hippy vibes and a calm nature about him, very helpful.
It was at this hostel that from the 2nd floor balcony, I climbed up a black sturdy ladder to hang clothes on the roof, again quite the experience and I was in need of clean clothes, apparently.
The Sunday brunch was open to everyone, so the crowd that came together were from everywhere, I had the pleasure of sitting to a European lady who was in Bangalore for some Humanitarian placement.
It was a shared brunch, as in plates of food were brought out by the couple who is behind, not only the Happiness cafe and also behind the BE ANIMAL way of living, holistic way of living, being sustainable and taking care of yourself and the world around you. This is was the brunch was about to spread the word and come together as a community. It was a lovely experience and I feel blessed to have experienced it.
