Bangalore for me became the place in which the people I met along the way, all came together.
It started with a newly wedded couple that had helped me by giving me somewhere to sit, during my overstay on a train in Delhi, unfortunately. I was slack and didn't get in contact, even though it was just one moment in time together, I will be forever thankful for their help.
My roommates that I met in Mumbai lived in Bangalore, also, rainbow fam bam that I had met in Kochi and sisters from the retreat and finally, the biological sister of another sister from the retreat.
This is where Indian hospitality fossilised in my heart and mind, and now when I speak of India that is what I am most fond of and privileded to have experienced. It reminds me of a conversation with an Indian friend years before I visited, she bragged so proudly of the hospitality in Indian hotels, what do you expect when it is said that guest is god, Atithi Devo Bhava. It's one thing when you are a paying customer but when you are just a passer-byer, the offer alone is quite the gesture and then the accommodation, with no expectation except that one day you may return the favour which is the least that one can do.
While passing through Bengaluru airport, I came across Whittaker's chocolate, I grew up on this stuff being that the Whittaker's factory is in my city of birth, it has been my party trick to show my place of birth in my passport to the address on the wrappers. It's bloody good chocolate. I was on my way to Anara and wanted to share apart of my home with my new friends.
